Welcome

A motion was made by Diane Hubert to approve last month’s meeting minutes, and seconded by Julie Holt. All were in favor.

President’s Report -  

Treasurer's Report -  Kristi Cobb discussed the budget. Julie Pfund made a motion to approve the budget, and Beth Dean seconded. All in favor. Last year, we gave $750 to PBIS. After minimal discussion and reviewing the financial statement, the PTO can provide the same amount this year. Beth Dean made a motion to give $750 to the HMS PBIS program, and Cindy Kelley seconded it. All were in favor.

Principal/Administrative Report -  Dr. Finch has been pleased with the start of the school year. She is very pleased with the new teachers and she thinks it's going to be a great year.

Committee Reports -  

• VP of Events - Glow Dance will be in the gym Sept 9th from 6-8. It is open to all HMS students only. We will set up decorations in the gym after school. There will be food available in the hallway to include snacks and bottled water. There is no full meal. The tickets will go on sale online on 8/26/22. They will cost $10. Julie will have a flier available in the school, and she will be putting information in the school newsletter. We will need to contact the safety officer about having them at the school that night. 
• Membership - Amber gave us an update on Invest quantity. There has been a glitch in the system, and the numbers were not accurate in the past. Amber and Beth are resolving this issue. The numbers are currently up by 82% in comparison to last school year.
• Hospitality - Beth Dean is planning to reward the staff that has participated in the Invest program with a Sonic beverage. Dr. Finch is going to send another reminder to the staff. There are teacher/staff events planned for every month except September at this time. Beth is wanting to find some Tier 3 volunteers to cover some teacher lunches to give them some extra planning time. Martin’s BBQ loves providing lunch for the staff, and we could help cover their lunches.
• Corporate Sponsors - Amy Martin has gotten multiple sponsors for this school year. $7700 has already been received. There are still more confirmed sponsors and more money to come in. We will need a new banner to include the new sponsors.
• Communications/Website - Julie Pfund has been posting on the Facebook page. 
• Front Office/Badges- Jocelyn DiRienzo can make badges before and/or after PTO meetings.
• Spiritwear/School Supplies - Sarah has received the information for school supplies. She is awaiting information on spiritwear. 
• Beautification - N/A
• HMS Athletics - September 22nd at 6PM is 8th grade night at Indy. We expect a large crowd to attend. It is our last home game of the season. The pep band will play. September 8th is the only other home football game.  Monday's volleyball game is a blackout game. The students attending have been told to wear black!
• Concessions - Julie says the football game was very busy for concessions. There are alot of volleyball games coming up. The price increase has not been an issue. The procedure checklist has been updated, and there is a video to help. Coach Umsteader was asking about having outdoor concessions. Offering outdoor concessions has many obstacles. It may be a better idea to have Kona ice and Five Ladies Donuts to show up for the Indy game. There will not be concessions otherwise at the Indy game. Mojos may be willing to do a spirit night that night. 

New Business -  

• Jocelyn is asking to do the 8th Grade shirts earlier in the school year. Dr. Finch thinks we could start working on the design, and the student numbers are usually set shortly after Labor Day. Dr. Finch is going to ask for the teacher’s help in designing the shirts.
